Enhanced Oil Recovery Surveillance - provides clients with the engineering expertise to monitor and analyze project performance. Depending on the clients' needs, project surveillance can involve any or all of the following:
  • Detailed Assessment of Reservoir Performance.
  • Oversight of Daily Operations.
  • Weekly, Monthly, or Quarterly Engineering and Economic Summaries.
  • Design and Implementation of New Procedures and Programs to Maximize Profit.

Enhanced Oil Recovery Project Review and Analysis - is used by clients as an independent oversight or long term performance assessment tool. Transpetco Engineering's broad experience in enhanced oil recovery projects helps locate problem areas fast and to develop real world economic solutions. This service provides non-operating partners with an independent review of a project. Operators on the other hand can get help for near term problems and a strategic perspective regarding long-term project management. Project review and analysis can be performed once or scheduled to be reviewed every few years. For periodic analysis, basic data can be gathered monthly to expedite the review.

Retainer Engineering Services - Clients gain considerable experience and expertise in reservoir engineering, formation evaluation, and financial analysis. As a retainer client, your special requirements or any of our regular services will have priority. For a small monthly retainer fee your company will have immediate access to an engineer familiar with your company. Whether it is solving a production problem for an operator or evaluation of an authorization for expenditure (AFE) for a non-operating partner, priority-engineering services are available without a full time staff.

Flat Rate Economic Viability Screening for CO2 and Waterflood Projects - are designed to provide the client with a sufficiently accurate analysis of a field's CO2 or waterflood economic potential in order to determine if and when to proceed with further detail study and project design, all at a cost effective price. Providing this service to our clients enables them to quickly determine a field's waterflood or CO2 potential before significant funds and resources are expended. We are able to keep our costs low because the client's personnel provide the necessary raw data by filling in a reservoir data sheet which is then used in our dimensionless analysis screening procedures. The results contained in the report include:
  • Magnitude of EOR reserves,
  • Oil production profile under EOR operations,
  • Injection requirements,
  • Generalized project economics and reserve summary,
  • Typical start-up and operational expenses for the project,
  • Sensitivity of the project to both injectant and oil pricing,
  • Any operational concerns identified from the data supplied.

Market Survey Regional Screenings - provide clients with a regional assessment of potential necessary to make informed long-term decisions. The regional screenings are typically directed toward determining the number of fields, potential recovery, or sources for a particular recovery mechanism. Typical market survey or regional screenings include:
  • CO2 Potential Studies - along existing or planned pipeline routes and surrounding source areas. Information gained from these studies typically includes number of fields amenable to flooding, potential oil recovery, CO2 volume requirements, and CO2 expense range for project profitability.
  • CO2 Source Studies - to determine available sources for a field with estimates of sustainable volumes and cost.
  • Reservoir Surveys - involves regional analysis of oil and gas reservoirs to help determine typical reservoir properties, enhanced oil recovery estimates, or purchase screening for a particular area or formation.

Available public data is an important factor in the detail of the report. Areas with limited production and reservoir information result in coarser estimates.

Acquisition/Divestiture Field Evaluations - assists clients in the determination of a value for properties under current and potential future operations. Acquisition services typically involve screening of prospects, data room assistance, detailed property evaluations, development of bid strategies, and due diligence in review of well files and property. Divestiture services involve identification of properties to sale, assistance in preparation of sales material, data room setup and administration, and evaluation of offers.

Reservoir Simulation - enables prediction of reservoir performance under alternate development plans and various reservoir drive mechanisms for optimal recovery. The level of study will depend on the client's objectives and available data. Typical uses involve single well analysis, early field development studies, and secondary and tertiary enhanced oil recovery analysis. Simulations can range from single well black oil analysis to full-field miscible displacement simulation.

CO2 Contract Negotiation Services - can involve serving as a client's representative and technical advisor in securing sources and transportation for a project or mediating between supplier and purchaser to develop fair creative financing alternatives. Our extensive ongoing experience in the design, implementation, and surveillance of CO2 projects help keep us current on present and future sources and transportation opportunities along with the ability to focus on efficiencies and opportunities of cogeneration. Since the purchase and transportation of CO2 is typically the largest expense of a project, determining financing alternatives which share the risk equitably is normally required for today's small to medium-sized fields. In just the last few years, the suppliers have recognized the value of CO2 is only the value of the oil it can produce. The suppliers have made and actively consider trading a portion of cost for the CO2 for oil production thus sharing the risk and improving key economic factors.

Technical Representation - provides clients a representative and technical advisor or mediator. Representation is typically provided for:
  • Engineering and Management Committee meetings on behalf of non-operating partners to provide clear translation of technical jargon, search for potentially biased information, provide expert - creative input to assist project profitability, and when needed provide reports tailored to clients needs.
  • Expert Witness Testimony to provide testimony as a technical spokesperson before commission hearing, courts, and arbitration hearings.
  • Mediation to serve as mediator in contract negotiations or technical disputes involving petroleum matters.

Project Coordination/Management - provide clients with the experience and expertise to coordinate multi-disciplinary projects or provide the knowledge and direction to manage a client's staff toward the solution of a project. Project coordination is even more important in today's multi-discipline teamwork approach to economic and effective problem solving. Project management utilizing a client's staff makes up for inexperience within the company while providing the direction on how to work the problem. Considerable knowledge is usually passed along during the process.
